Mike Beaudry is a 6'5, 240 pound Quaterback from Oviedo, Florida. He played high school football for Hagerty High School where he threw for 1,000 yards as a senior and tossed 8 touchdowns. Last fall he redshirted for the University of West Florida and sat back and watched the 5-6 season. This season the Argos finished the regular season with a outstanding 7-3 record and the have advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the first time in program history. In High School he was sold on the plan that Coach Shinick was brewing at the University of West Florida.
"UWF was my top choice. I was locked in here because the coaches were the first coaches that believed in me would give me a shot." said Beaudry.
On the season Mike has thrown for 2210 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. The final two regular season games Mike has won 2 consecutive GSC Freshman of the Week honors. In the past two weeks alone Mike has thrown for 440 passing yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception.
"Winning freshman of the week vs North Alabama was awesome. It just makes me happy to see that the work we've put in has paid off and we've got something to show for it. I obviously wouldn't be abled to win Freshman of the Week if it wasn't for all of those other guys that put in the work with me." said Beaudry.
UWF is the 6th seed in playoffs and they will take on #3 Wingate University who posted a solid 9-1 record during the regular season. The game will be played in Wingate, North Carolina and it will be aired on ESPN3.
